We at RhythmTree are strong proponents of both musical and trade-based education, especially for under funded schools and districts. That is why we hope to combine these two far flung fields of study into one, concise program for schools on a smaller budget. With our Instrument Building Program students actually build the marimbas they will later use to play. Under guidance from our professionals your teachers and students can learn the basics of tuning, wood working and the history of the Marimba musical instrument and African musical tradition. Any of these fields of study can be expanded upon in other classrooms to create a tactile, holistic approach to education. And, when the project is done comes the best part: Your students will have brand new Marimbas that they can use!
